Testimonials

(HRC Honda, HM Plant, ) Michael Rutter, runner up in the British Superbike Championship 2004 says; "Its the best quickshifter in the world!".

(Superbike Magazine)  The Translogic quickshifter lets you change up through the gearbox without the need to shut the throttle.  It's insane as you hurtle along country roads accelerating faster than you can imagine.  It takes some getting use to the difference in the speed of acceleration.  At the track it helps shave seconds off your lap times.    It also helps settle the bike if you make changes mid corner.  They have improved since I had one three years ago by the addition of a GP pressure sensor which needs a little more pressure on the gearlever to change gear.  Fitting is a breeze with plug and play connectors, although on the Blade it meant taking the fairing and tank off which is why Crescent motorcycles did mine for me.  The `Intellishift' automatically adjusts the shift speed depending on engine RPMs to give the smoothest changes.  Once fitted there is no need to adjust again.

JOHN REYNOLDS  # 1 British Superbike Champion and his Crescent Rizla Suzuki GSXR1000 and KARL HARRIS # 1 British Supersport Champion plus 28 other British Superbikes are equipped only with Translogic products!  Hawk Kawasaki,  Motopower Sanyo Honda,  Honda Britain, they all demand Translogic!  John said,  "Outstanding, really smooth!", the response is unanimous, "mega! we should have been using Translogic sooner! it's so simple to set up and requires no adjusting!"

`ALAN CATHCART' world renowned journalist of the motorcycling industry who has ridden many bikes with every type of quickshifter going says; "Translogic has managed to do something that no other quickshifter manufacturer has been able to do, develop and produce a quickshifter that can be used effectively on the road as well as the track.  The Translogic worked faultlessly even when I flat shifted wide open as low as 4,000 rpm, or did so using about half-throttle or less.  Makes it more of a semi-automatic gear shift, rather like a Porsche Sportmatic or any of the clutchless car systems - but the fact is that thanks to an interrupter on the ignition program which brings two cylinders back into action fractionally before the other two, thus ensuring a smooth take-up no matter what the revs or throttle opening, it worked perfectly when I rode it, and is a must fit option on other sportsbikes, not just the Firehawk."

MCN (Motorcycle News) "We have tried many quickshifters in the past on road tests and just end up switching them off, but this is really different, you can actually shift up at very low revs and its' still smooth, the best we've tried!"

`RICHARD HALFPENNY'   Just a quick thank you message.  I just fitted a QS2GP system to my 2002 R1 and would like to congratulate you on a superb product. Easy to install, and flawless in operation.  Thanks for offering such a well developed product.

(Superbike magazine)  Translogic Micro Dash 2  This is an extremely high quality item, looking like it just came off a proper superbike racer.  The Translogic Micro Dash 2 is a replacement dash with a high-contrast LCD display for gear position, revs, speed, engine temp, 100 lap memory lap timer (via handle bar mounted button), battery voltage and ditance.  There's also a neutral light, high beam indicator and super bright shift light array.  Its all mounted in a posh aluminium casing, with weather proof seals and aluminium mounting bracketry.  It's all supplied with a neat wiring loom that will need to be spliced into your bikes existing wiring loom., pretty much the perfect instrumentation for an ultimate track bike or street special.

(Superbike magazine)  Translogic Systems Ltd are the market leaders in quickshifter technology and the Crescent Suzuki boys and the majority of the BSB grid will agree having used Translogic for the last couple of seasons.   Translogic fitted a QS2 quickshifter to the ZX6R. After getting used to it, it rocks!  At Bruntingthorpe I spent the day showing Al's CBR6 a clean pair of heals down the runway.  It makes for super smooth gear changes, you can wheelie through the box without shutting off and upsetting the balance of the bike which improved my distances greatly.  On the way home I turned it off and noticed how much effort there was in changing gear!  It really makes for an easier ride with a quickshifter and is a great gadget to have and if you do track days you will benefit even more.

F.A.Q.  (General)   AST + IntellishiftTM quickshifter systems

1.    Q.   Will these F series motorcycle IntellishiftTM quickshifter fit my race bike/gearbox?

 A.
Translogic has developed different specification quickshifter systems to suit specific applications. We have
a have quickshifter system to fit virtually all motorcycle engine powered vehicles, bikes, ATVs, go-karts,
specialist cars etc.  There are plug&play connectors for all stick coil ignition systems (found on virtually all
modern sports models from 2000 onwards)  Connectors can be simply removed and the fitting kit
components used for older twin coil installations with blade terminals.

2.    Q.  What is AST + IntellishiftTM quickshifting?

A.  Translogic's AST (Adaptive Shift Technology) has been developed with leading race technicians to provide
the ultimate in quickshifter technology.  This unique feature adapts the interrupt settings on different
cylinders at different engine RPMs.  This results in the best quickshift possible.  There is no need for
different interrupt times for different gears as this
AST quickshifter gives the rider a bigger window of
opportunity to select the next gear allowing much shorter interrupt times than any other quickshifter system
can cope with, nothing compares to the feel of a Translogic
AST +
IntellishiftTM quickshifter system.

3.    Q.  How does the F series IntellishiftTM quickshifters work?

A.  As the gear lever approaches the point of upshifting the ignition is interrupted  for approx. 40ms - 100ms
(milliseconds) which removes the load from the transmission allowing the next gear to be selected.

4.    Q.  Is there a quickshifter override switch?

A.  No.  Unlike other quickshifters the unique IntellishiftTM feature negates the need for an override switch as it
provides far smoother quickshifting at lower engine RPMs.

5.    Q.  How do you set the interrupt duration?

 A.  You don't need to with the AST + IntellishiftTM quickshifter! as this advanced quickshifter system works in a
            unique
engine speed adaptive method as described in number 2. above.  On non AST Translogic
            quickshifter systems which all feature
IntellishiftTM you can choose between different interrupt times to suit
your riding style and track conditions.  There are still different interrupt times on different cylinders with these

IntellishiftTM quickshifter systems providing a superior shift to other quickshifter systems.  These motorcycle
quickshifters offer the ultimate in quickshifting performance.

6.    Q.  How do the quickshifter sensors fit to the race bike?

 A.  The GP pressure sensor simply sits in the end of the supplied adjuster tie rod.  On non tie rod applications
where the gear lever fixes directly to the splined selector shaft
the linear sensor attaches between the gear
lever and the frame/engine casing, or it attaches to the gear lever height/position adjuster rod and the
frame/engine casing.  Fitting components are supplied in the fitting kit.

7.    Q.  How do the F series quickshifter systems get wired into the ignition coils?

 A.  The TLS-QS4 and TLS-QS2 quickshifter systems are plug&play and do not require splicing into the
            original ignition coil harness.  The
TLS-QS2 and TLS-QS6LSMX quickshifters feature a `sleep' mode where
the quickshifter ECUs are continually powered up but draw virtually zero current making installation a
            breeze.

8.    Q.  My Supermoto/MX bike doesn’t have a battery will the IntellishiftTM quickshifter still work?

 A.  The TLS-QS6LSMX is self powered and features a standard off the shelf 9volt battery.  This battery will last
over 1 year when left continually connected.

9.    Q.  My bike is set up for reverse race style gear shifting, can the F series IntellishiftTM quickshifter
            work this way 1up 5down?
       A.  The F series IntellishiftTM quickshifter is available either in road or inverted race pattern.  The thing to
remember before ordering is that the push/road shift sensor interrupts on
compression and the pull/race shift
sensor version interrupts on sensor extension.

10.  Q.  I have a Suzuki GSXR  with fuel injection, will the F series AST + IntellishiftTM  quickshifters  make
            my `F1’
warning light come on?

       A.  No, the F series AST + IntellishiftTM TLS-QS4 and IntellishiftTM TLS-QS2 quickshifters are the only
quickshifter systems that prevent any warning lights becoming illuminated on the fuel injected GSXR range
.

11.  Q.  Is there a provision for a shiftlight?
       A.  Yes, the F series AST + IntellishiftTM TLS-QS4 has a plug ready to accept the Remote Shiftlight, TLS-RS.

Micro Dash Systems

1.    Q.  Will the F series Micro Dash (race dash) fit my race bike/sports car?
       A.  Yes, it will fit virtually all motorcycle engine powered vehicles, bikes, ATVs, go-karts, specialist cars etc.

2.    Q.  How does the Micro Dash gear indicator work?
       A.  It works by monitoring engine RPM and wheel speed and the calculating the relationship between the two,
this is the only accurate way of indicating gears.  Our engineers have also added a new predictive feature to
give improved first gear indication, even when the vehicle is not moving.

3.    Q.  Can you see the Micro Dash operating in sunlight?
       A.  Yes, because the Micro Dash incorporates the latest LCD and not a LED indicator you can see the display
in direct sun conditions.  No numerical LED gear indicator can be seen in direct sunlight, only LCDs have
enhanced daylight capabilities due to their transflective nature.  The Micro Dash comes with a `Cool Blue' or
`Warm Red' backlight  for exceptional night time viewing.

4.    Q.  How does the Micro Dash get wired into the bike?
       A.  The Micro Dash comes with a universal wiring harness which has been designed to lay through the
bike/vehicle engine area so the appropriate sensing wires end up in close proximity to the original OEM
sender/signal  wire.  There are approximately 7 wires to be hardwired and one plug&play speed sensor
            provided as standard.

5.    Q.  If my bike/vehicle does not have a speed sensor, can I still use the Micro Dash?
       A.  The Micro Dash comes with a plug&play amplified speed sensor provided as standard.  It has a universal
mounting bracket supplied in the fitting kit.  The speed sensor needs to be positioned so the end of the
sensor points at a ferrous metal object like the sprocket bolts of the webs on the rear brake disc.

6.    Q.  What happens if I miss a gear?
       A.  The Micro Dash automatically checks for other gear ratios and once detected will show the corrected gear
in a split second, normally within 120ms.

7.    Q.  My bike doesn’t have a battery will the Micro Dash still work?
       A.  No, the Micro Dash requires a 9-14volt powers supply to operate correctly.

8.    Q.  How does the low fuel indication work on the Micro Dash?
       A.  The Micro Dash has a low fuel indicator that works by the user setting a pre-defined mileage that the user
wants the low fuel warning lights to come on at.  This feature can be turned off for high level racing as it is
not normally required.  The warning lights can be set to come on at between 50 and 200miles.

Powershift Systems -  (Tiptronic push button gear shift system)

1.    Q.  Will the Powershift fit my bike/gearbox?
       A.  Yes, the Powershift products have been engineered to provide the kindest way to remotely shift gears on
motorcycles and motorcycle engined cars etc.  Typically as long as the gearbox configuration is that
found on a motorcycle then the Powershift will function perfectly.  The Powershift can also select gears on
many automotive sector gearboxes such as Hewland etc.

2.    Q.  How does the Powershift work?
       A.  It works by remotely operating the gearlever to select gears by the touch of either of the handle bar mounted
buttons so you no longer need to use your feet to shift gear.

3.    Q.  Is the Powershift some kind of solenoid or air shifter?
       A.  No, the Powershift is a unique linear actuator designed and manufactured to Translogic's specifications .  It
uses a DC (direct current) motor, planetary gearbox etc. to provide precise control and masses of power
from such a small package.  This shifter design allows us simulate the operators/riders foot operation when
shifting gear resulting in simulated gear shifts rather than just banging in the gears with brute force when
there is no control with air shifters and solenoids.

4.    Q.  Will the Powershift upshift without backing off the throttle?
       A.  Yes, when combined with the TLS-PS-QSECU with built-in AST + IntellishiftTM quickshifter.   The addition
of this extra ECU will facilitate upshifting without lifting off the throttle and without using the clutch too.
All
            Powershift
variants will downshift only with use of the clutch or by throttle `blipping’ during down shifting.

5.    Q.  Will the Powershift downshift without the clutch?
       A.  No, all Powershift variants will downshift only with use of the clutch or by throttle `blipping’ during down
shifting, this is for safety reasons.

6.    Q.  How heavy is the whole Powershift system?
       A.  Approximately 800gms

7.    Q.  How does the Powershift get wired into the bike?
       A.  There is a black wire with a ring terminal which goes onto the battery negative, a red wire with a ring terminal
which goes onto the positive of the battery and a long red wire which goes onto a fused ignition on supply,
the brake light supply wire is ideal.
There is a quickshifter output wire which can connected to the
            Translogic
TLS-PS-QSECU to facilitate AST +
IntellishiftTM quickshifting and auto-upshift.

8.    Q.  Can I still select gears with my foot once the Powershift is fitted?
       A.  Yes, gears can be selected as normal.

9.    Q.  My bike doesn’t have a battery will the Powershift still work?
       A.  No, a battery of at least +12V (7Ah) (amp hours) must be fitted, preferably with a charging system.

10   Q.  My bike is set up for reverse race style gear shifting, can the Powershift work this way 1up
            5down?
      A.  The Powershift is available by special request where it can be operated in the reverse to standard operation.
Standard operation is where the piston of the
Powershift enters the body of the shifter on an upshift and
triggers the quickshifter function on entry.  The
Powershift can be supplied to operate in the opposite
            manner.
